The Service Dog Journey

A Service Dog is a highly trained companion that provides invaluable support and assistance to individuals with disabilities. They are dedicated, intelligent, and compassionate partners, helping to enhance independence, mobility, and overall well-being. They are allowed to assist their handlers in all areas open to the general public.

On this page we will go over the different types of Service Dogs & Their overall training requirements. 

 

 

There Are Many Different Categories Of Service Dogs...

Autism Service Dogs

These Dogs are specialty trained to help those on the Autism Spectrum, developmental delay, or other similar challenges such as Fragile X, Asperger's, Rhetts Syndrome, Dup13, & Down Syndrome.

Hearing Dogs

This dogs are specifically trained to alert their handler  to certain sounds in their environment such as  buzzers, audible alerts, baby crying, telephone ringing, or even the Client's name.

Medical Alert Dogs

These canines are trained to detect the physical indicators of a medical episode for conditions such as Seizures/Epilepsy, POTS, Syncope, Diabetic Alert, along with Food or Environmental Allergies. When these items occur, the dog will respond in various ways such as alerting another person or triggering a medical alert device.

Mobility Assistance

These dogs are for Client with mobility challenges such as being confined to a wheelchair, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's Disease, Or Balance issues. They can retrieve dropped items, help transferring between their chair, and open up doors.

PTSD & Generalized Anxiety Disorder

These Canines assist their handlers with the challenges of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), or other similar conditions. They can recognize & responds to anxiety or panic attacks, wake you up if you have night terrors, apply deep pressure therapy to assist calming down & much more.
